How Comparee Evaluates AI Tools

Comparee.ai maintains a structured catalog of 971 AI tools across 31 categories, published in 11 languages and updated daily. This page explains exactly where our rankings, comparisons and verdicts come from.

1. Structured catalog data

Every tool in our catalog is stored as structured data: category and use cases, feature coverage, pricing model (free tier, trial, subscription tiers), platform support and target audience. Comparisons and tables on Comparee are generated from this single catalog — not copied from vendor marketing pages.

2. The Comparee Score

The Comparee Score (0–100) is a transparent, rule-based rating computed from catalog signals: completeness and clarity of product information, pricing transparency (public pricing, free tier or trial availability), breadth of documented features for the tool's category, and how well the tool fits the category a buyer is actually searching in. An editorial adjustment (capped) lets our team correct scores when hands-on knowledge differs from the data. Scores are recomputed regularly as catalog data changes.

What the score is not: it is not a paid placement. Affiliate partnerships never influence the Comparee Score or ranking order — several of our top-scored tools have no partnership with us at all.

3. Editorial review

Guides and verdicts are drafted with AI assistance against our catalog data and reviewed by the Comparee editorial team before publishing. Every guide must pass structural quality checks (comparison tables, FAQ, explicit verdict) and a truthfulness rule: we only make specific claims about a tool that our catalog data supports, and we avoid quoting exact prices that change frequently.

4. Corrections & freshness

The catalog is updated daily; guide pages show their last-updated date. If you spot outdated or incorrect information, email us at [email protected] and we will review it promptly.

5. How we make money

Comparee is free for readers. We earn revenue from affiliate commissions when readers choose a tool through our links and from clearly labeled advertising. This never affects scores, rankings or verdicts — our long-term value depends on recommendations being right, not on any single click.
